I have been derelict in my duties….I have allowed life to crowd in and make me too busy to blog! EEEEEEEK!
No, I worked a temporary job for a couple of weeks, then spent the next 3 weeks trying to catch up at my "real" job. We own our own business, & when you couple that with kids, school, parents, & laundry that makes for alot of craziness! Whew! I'm glad that graduation is over. It was an exciting time, but emotionally very draining.
Cynthia, my oldest, gave an amazing speech at graduation. Have I mentioned that she was the Valedictorian? It is hard to believe that I failed to mention that before — since I have been telling strangers in the grocery store about my "genius child". ANYWAY……..
In her speech she talked about the graduating class & how they have been told that they are the hope for tomorrow. She said that she disagreed with that…that they were the hope for today. She admonished them to live in the moment. To not always look forward to what they were going to do, but to do something now–IN THIS MOMENT.
She closed with this quote from John Wesley:
"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
Well, I was convicted. How often I have dreamt of the future & not taken care of today.
She has taught me so much. Thank you God for this moment!
